Windows GUI crashes

I have been using Launchmate for 2-3 yeras. Meanwhile, I have not found any comparable launching bar fow Windows. I mean I cannot organize Windows shortcuts any better way. Unfortunatelly, there is a problem that drives me crazy. Every now and then, Launchmate causes Windows GUI crashes. Basically, after a longer period of system uptime (8-24 hrs.). It is also dependent on a user activity (GUI interactions). This is encountered on WinNT 4.0 SP6a with Matrox G400 video adapter and on Windows 2000 SP3 with ATI Radeon as well. Both systems have 0,5GB RAM. I could describe the crash as a sudden and unstoppable fast switching of open applications. If I manage after that to kill Launchmate, Windows remains operational. Sometimes I open the Launchmate web page hoping there is a newer release, however it seems nothing is going on. What a pity!

I'm using W2000SP3 with 384MB and a S3trio at work. PC stays on for more than 8 hours but never crashes.
At home I have a WinMe with 640MB and an ATI128/32MB, leave the system on overnight for internet downloading but never experienced any of these problems.
I don't use features like autohide, sounds and the likes, only have Resize after Settings change on.
Also I'm not using windows powersave features. I do have experience with other apps that crash after powersave state changes.
Maybe the way you configured Launchmate?

Linux is like a wigwam, no Windows, no Gates, and an Apache inside....
Launchmate is like a chameleon, doesn't hurt, my change color and always looks good...

I suspect the high number of shortcuts that my LM handles might cause the crash. Actually it takes pretty much time to read them all when LM starts. I do not have sounds in LM, do not use powersave (only when my laptop is unplugged), enabling or disabling autohide makes no improvement either. In my first post I wrote about the user GUI activity - that is importatnt too. If I leave my desktop running for many days without having to work with Windows interface, no crash occurs. Also, I know that it is LM which causes the crashes. Without LM running, no problem can be seen. Or, even after I kill LM (when it has ruined Windows) Windows recovers and can continue the session. I keep searching for an LM replacement, however nothing seems to beat it.

sorry to hear about your crashes. I haven't seen the problem that is happening to you. While I don't run Windows NT regularly I run Windows 2000 at work with no crashes of any kind. Do you use the display switching option when launching. It may be associated with it. I will be posting a new test version of LaunchMate soon. So don't give up hope.
