Changing appearance of LM bar?

I just did a major revision of my desktop, etc., and it's been so long that I forgot what I did last time... I want to change the color of the frame, the thing that includes the gripper. It's gray (or html "silver"), and I want it to be a darker, muted color. How do I do that? --or is my memory of having done it a year ago a fiction? I mean, can the frame's color be changed?
