First off, I have been using Launchmate for a few weeks now and I must say that it is excellent! I have a nice clean desktop once again, with categories and such to navigate to any program I have installed through Launchmate. I have only experienced 2 crashes so far. Once upon bootup a different program I have installed had a problem creating a taskbar icon, and that obviously disrupted Launchmate from loading as well. The other happened once when I clicked on the "show desktop" icon...and Launchmate unloaded itself. In both occasions I was able to simply reload Launchmate however. One bug that happens all the time has to do with the "Tip Of The Day". The tip willload fine on an initial bootup, but after having Launchmate run for an hour or so and THEN trying to view the tip of the day, I will get tip dialog box and all it will say is "Tips file does not exist in the prescribed directory". The tips text file is indeed there, and like I said it will work fine if I reboot. Odd. Anyway, not a big deal for me but maybe something the author needs to know if it hasn't been posted elsewhere before.

I think there is a problem with the shortcut created in the Startup folder. Make sure that the shortcut in the Startup folder has the right working folder or start in folder.

Well, there is only one location for the shortcut as referenced in the startup:

Target is:

"C:\Program Files\LaunchMate\LnchMate.exe"

and set to start in:

"C:\Program Files\LaunchMate"

Like I said, if I reboot it does work for a little while. That's what is the odd part.

thanks for the update. It seems that the working directory is changing at some point. I fixed it for LaunchMate 4.0 to use the full path when getting the location of the tip file.
